DELIVERIES, PRICING & GUARANTEES

Shipping & Returns Policy

Our coffees are roasted & brewed fresh as required in small batches. We use 3rd party delivery services like Sendle and AusPost for all deliveries that are outside a 10km radius of our HQ. Therefore we try to plan our dispatch based on their service timelines/updates in our local area.

KAAPI beans/grounds

Orders are processed within 24-48 hours and couriered orders are dispatched daily. Orders fulfilled by us are generally delivered within 3-4 days (excl. weekends).

KAAPI Decoction

Decoction is brewed fresh to order and in order to reduce extended transit, regular shipping orders are generally dispatched Mon-Wed. Please note not all orders received after Wednesday 12pm may dispatch the same week.

We will update you with the tracking number once it has been picked up by our courier.

Within AU, to some areas we occasionally experience delays. So IF you are ordering from SA, TAS, QLD, WA & NT and have Decoction as an item, your shipping (mode & rates) is automatically updated to Express Post.

Please note the shipping rates may be updated from time to time to accommodate for delivery provider price fluctuations.

If you're in Melbourne, you can also opt to pick-up your online order from one of our friends. Options available at checkout!

RETURNS

We place a strong emphasis on the quality of coffee beans and chicory we use. Our blend is crafted in small batches to futher ensure optimal freshness. With this in mind, we cannot guarantee refunds or returns for change of mind.

However, if you have any issues or are unhappy about any aspects of your order, please email us [at] enquiries@kaapi.com.au and someone from our team will get back to you within 48 hours, and we will try to make it right.

Read our KAAPI Satisfaction Guarantee for peace of mind!

Other DELIVERY / DISPATCH good-to-know info!

Some of the reasonable deets that were left out from our original Shipping Policy, but are still worth mentioning...

You can expect occasional glitches because of bad weather or other unexpected delays from time to time. We request you to please be patient and contact us should you have concerns. All goods are insured and should in the unlikely event something go missing, we will endeavour to sort it out in a reasonable manner.

Express Shipping We generally use AusPost for these orders. However since the beginining of the pandemic, AusPost don't guarantee *express shipping* to work like magic as there are occasional delays which the pandemic imposes on the day-to-day operations of all businesses including theirs.

Why do you offer Express Shipping? Its like magic when it works. We charge you the extra because we pay that extra (and a bit more) and TRY to get that order to you asap, but sometimes there are uncontrollable delays.

Delivery/Dispatch generally don't occur over the weekend. Most local Post Offices trade shorter hours on Saturday and are closed on Sunday. We also don't have couriers pickup orders over the weekend, however some customers have reported to have received their orders on a weekend; lucky them!

Delivery Pricing

These are our current rates. We don't update it unless our delivery partner rates go up. Please contact us for any Qs for details that are not covered in the following table, thanks!

INDIAN FILTER COFFEE 101

How is 'Indian' Filter Coffee different from a Filter Coffee?

Indian Filter Coffee brew is traditionally full bodied, with low acidity. It derives its name from the filter pot that is traditionally used to brew this coffee. The resulting brew—known as decoction—is as strong as espresso, and suitable for milk-based coffees.

In the Western world, the Indian filter coffee can be a misnomer as filter coffees in the west are pour over brews that are less concentrated and generally consumed as black coffee.

Can I brew your 'kaapis' without a traditional filter pot?

Yes!

CHAKRAM (Coffee & Chicory blend) can be brewed using a manual brewer such as Mokapot (stovetop), Aeropress & Vietnamese Phin.

You can get YODHA, GAJAH & Single Origin Kaapi ground as suited for your brewing method or as beans.

You can check out our Brew Guide if you would like to learn the traditional brewing method and serving style.
